Heavy Duty Fire Exit Door with Arrone Hardware
A fire exit door needs to do two things well: hold its own as a security barrier day to day, and open instantly under pressure in an emergency. This heavy-duty steel door, fitted with Arrone hardware throughout, is built to meet both demands without compromise.
Door Construction
The 50mm thick door leaf is made from two skins of 1.0mm pre-lacquered Zintec steel, powder coated dark grey. The cavity between them is filled with fibreglass material bonded to each skin, providing thermal resistance of 20W/m2K and acoustic resistance. Two steel strengthening supports run through the full height of the leaf, and a reinforcement panel is included at the door closer position to handle the repeated mechanical stress of daily operation.
A 15mm anti-jemmy lip runs to all four edges of the leaf, reducing the risk of forced entry at the frame. Four heavy-duty lift-off hinges are pre-fitted, giving a secure and stable hang while keeping installation straightforward.
The 2.0mm cold-rolled Zintec steel frame is powder coated to match and comes with an expandable mechanism covering structural openings from 880mm to 1160mm across three size ranges. Weather sealing is pre-fitted to all sides, and a removable stainless steel threshold is included as standard.
Arrone Hardware
Arrone panic and emergency hardware carries Certifire approval, an independent third-party certification scheme that confirms performance, quality and traceability.
The fire exit door with a panic bar operates via a single push motion from inside, releasing the door immediately without any prior knowledge of the mechanism needed. This matters in an emergency, where occupants may be unfamiliar with the building or acting under stress. The fire exit door push bar is also well suited to high-traffic exits used throughout the working day, as the action is fast and requires no key or code to operate from the inside.
For buildings that need controlled access from outside, an Arrone outside access device can be specified. This allows keyholders to enter through the emergency fire exit door during the day while keeping the internal panic bar fully operational at all times. The door can also be locked externally at night without affecting the egress function from inside.
CE Marked and Compliant
The door carries CE marking in line with current UK and European construction product requirements. It arrives pre-hung in the frame, complete with all hardware fitted, ready for installation without the need to source additional components.
